about lasse
I am a Danish-based freelance photographer driven by curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for visual storytelling. I am 43 years old and based in Vejle, where I live with my family. Much of my time is spent with my three children, and family life plays a central role in how I see the world — with patience, presence, and attention to the small moments that often matter the most.
Photography is not my primary profession. For many years, I have worked within the industry as Brand Manager at Oakley, a role that has given me a strong understanding of brand identity, visual communication, and long-term storytelling. This background informs my photographic work, bridging creative intuition with a clear sense of purpose and context.
My work lives in the space between light and shadow, where contrast becomes a language and composition a way of thinking. I am drawn to images that do more than describe — images that suggest, that leave room for interpretation. I see photography as a metaphor: a way of making the abstract tangible and of revealing the quiet mystery hidden in everyday life.
I work primarily with street and portrait photography. On the street, I am inspired by unpredictability — fleeting moments, human presence, and the accidental poetry created when people, architecture, and light intersect. In my portrait work, I seek presence over perfection, using shadows, angles, and restraint to reveal character rather than surface.
Beyond photography, my life is grounded in family and the outdoors. I have a strong passion for mountain biking, where movement, focus, and rhythm create a sense of freedom and connection to nature. Time spent on the trails clears the mind and influences the way I work — shaping my understanding of flow, patience, and perspective.
When I step away from both camera and trails, I am likely chasing another kind of perfection: the perfect espresso. I am a devoted coffee enthusiast, spending countless hours refining, tasting, and learning — drawn to the same balance, precision, and craftsmanship that define my photography.
Photography, for me, is not about capturing what is visible at first glance. It is about slowing down, observing more closely, and finding meaning in the in-between.
