DK-based Photographer Lasse Kielstrup
I photograph what exists between light and shadow.
My work is driven by contrast, composition, and instinct. I use the camera not to explain the world, but to question it. A photograph is not a record — it is a metaphor. A way of turning the abstract into something tangible, and the ordinary into something unfamiliar.
I am drawn to the street for its honesty and unpredictability. Moments unfold without permission. Light collides with architecture. People pass through the frame and disappear. In portraiture, I look for presence rather than perfection. What remains when nothing is performed.
I believe less reveals more. Shadows are not absence — they are information. Meaning lives in what is suggested, not shown.
I photograph to create tension.
And to leave space for interpretation.

monochrome collection
Monochrome strips the image down to its core.
Without color to rely on, there is no place to hide. Light, shadow, and composition become the foundation of the photograph. Every choice is intentional. Every contrast exposed.
Working in monochrome challenges me to be more precise and more creative — to focus on form, texture, and emotion, and to let simplicity carry the story.
bike collection
Cycling is more than a subject I photograph — it is a passion that runs through my everyday life.
As both a rider and a follower of the sport, cycling shapes the way I see movement, effort, and rhythm. Its essence defines the expression in my images: the balance between individuality and belonging, between pushing personal limits and being part of something greater.
My cycling photography is not about polish or performance alone, but about presence, tension, and the quiet poetry found in motion.
architecture
Architecture, to me, is a study of lines, composition, and materiality.
I am drawn to the dialogue between structure and light, to surfaces shaped by time, and to the balance between form and function. Through careful composition, I seek to highlight the quiet order and subtle tension that exist within the built environment.
My architectural images focus on presence and rhythm — finding expression in precision, restraint, and detail.
